Learning to Paint Pt. 1

I started learning to paint digitally in March 2021, using "The Ultimate Digital Painting Course" on Udemy. This is my progress so far!

Section 10: Painting Fundamentals

3rd May

My first digital painting, completely from scratch (prior lessons used existing lineart as a base.)

Section 12. Learn How to Paint People

10th May

My first ever portrait. The proportions deviate a fair bit from the source, but I'm really happy with the overall look.

A few takeaways from this exercise. 1. Don't minimize the forehead! 2. Everything looks much worse before adding the eyes 3. Conversely, the eyes 'pop' a bit too much 4. Could do with a freckle brush
